The Seven ravens is a classic folk tale compiled by the famous brothers Grimm. In this story a baby girl is born ill, and her distressed father unknowingly curses her brothers in order to save her. The seven little kids are turned into ravens, and fly away in the early morning. Years pass and the little girl is now on a journey to find her lost brothers and bring them back home.

I personally found this story to be specially vivid, with lovely imagery, so it inspired a series of illustrations made in the context of “Folktale Week”, an online event that celebrates children’s books illustrations.
